Sometimes, your schedule doesn’t work out as you planned. This is our refund, rescheduling and retake policy. We have tried to make it fair to you, Rutgers Scuba, and other students who want to participate in our classes.
If we have to cancel a class section for any reason, you may either request a full refund, or a transfer to another class section.
If you are unable to attend a class for which you have registered, you may request a 50% refund up to two weeks before class starts. Afterwards, you may reschedule subject to space availability (see below).
If you have already received course materials, you must return them before we can process your refund request. If they are not in their original condition, you will be charged a $35 materials fee.
All Scuba courses are performance based: that is you need to be able to successfully accomplish certain skills, in order to be able to receive your certification. Many skills depend on others that you should have mastered in previous sessions.
If you are unable to attend a particular class session, please let the Instructor or the Scuba Coordinator know as soon as possible. For weekday classes, it may be possible to arrange a make-up before the next class session. For weekend courses, this is generally impossible and you will need to complete your class with a later class section.
Different class sections run according to different timetables and it may be necessary for you to repeat skills that you have already mastered.
We will attempt to accommodate students who need to reschedule in the first available class section of their choice, subject to space availability. New students have priority over returning students. Course section enrollments will close three days before the section starts. At this point, rescheduling students will be confirmed in their section of choice.
