Policies & Procedures

  • Payments are to be made in advance. Training sessions can be purchased at the Recreational Services main office at the College Avenue Gymnasium, Werblin Recreation Center, or at the front desk of the Rutgers Fitness Center at the Corner of Easton Avenue and Somerset Street, and at the front desk of the Tech Gym & Spa at Rockoff Hall.
  • Student rates are only available for FULL-TIME Students.
  • We are unable to issue monetary refunds for any sessions remaining after 6 months. 
  • All first time clients will be asked to complete a full request packet.
  • Personal Training sessions do not expire. However, due to inherent changes in health and fitness history, clients that have not trained with a Rutgers trainer winthin the past 6 months must undergo a reassessment. You may either purchase another start-up package or use the first of your remaining sessions as a reassessment.
  • Appointments must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance by calling the Personal Training Coordinator at 932-8110 or 24 hours in advance by contacting your trainer directly. Otherwise the fee will be forfeited.
  • A missed appointment or improper notification of a cancellation will result in the appointment being forfeited. You will be charged for the appointment.
  • Please be ready to begin each appointment at the scheduled time. Unfortunately we will not be able to extended the appoinment time if you arrive late.
  • Only Personal Trainers affiliated with Rutgers Recreational Services may conduct personal training sessions within our facilities.
  • Proper workout attire (preferably t-shirt and shorts) is to be worn to all sessions including the assessment. You must wear sneakers. We are not able to reschedule a workout session in the event that you not dressed properly. 
  • Please avoid caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, exercise, and other strenuous activity the day of your assessment (first appointment).
